The lander in the foreground is a two-stage rocket which will be refueled with carbon monoxide for ascent from Mars, landing on with its primary stage rockets.

CfM2: Vehicles landing on Mars – 1190 viewsVehicles carrying both crew and cargo land on the surface of Mars. The cargo vehicles land on their side while the crewed vehicles land upright. The crew compartment is in the upper stage, necessitating the ladder to climb past the first stage. These 2 stage ascent vehicles are refueled with carbon monoxide and oxygen produced from the local Martian atmosphere. Inflatable Assembly Tent – 1197 viewsInflatable assembly tent, first one is brought from Earth, others are made on Mars. Side bulges provide extra floor space and stability. Could be about 10 m in diameter. Large modules (~5m) are assembled or wound inside this. Balconies provide tie points for automated equipment and human inspection. Regolith or ice shielding is not shown, and would be optional for an automated version.
